Your first fix

When a build fails, stay in the same shell and run:

yocman fix

Yocman finds the failing task in the bitbake console log, collects the task log, your layers and your configuration, masks secrets, and starts the diagnosis. You see every file the agent asks to read.

You then get:

  • the diagnosis: what failed and why, in a few sentences;
  • the cause and a confidence level;
  • a unified diff against one of your own layers (never poky, meta or other upstream layers).

Nothing is applied until you answer y. Yocman then checks that the patch applies cleanly, applies it, and re-runs the failed task (for example bitbake -c patch -f busybox). If the task still fails, the new log goes back to the agent, up to three attempts.

Only the explanation

yocman explain

Same diagnosis, no patch, nothing modified. Useful to understand an error before deciding what to change.

See what would be sent

yocman fix --dry-run

Prints the masked payload and sends nothing.

Next: your first audit.
